AOSpine Regional Courses
AOSpine Regional Courses - Bogota - Mexico City

From November 3rd to 5th AOSpine Latin America launched its first Regional Courses in Bogota, Colombia. The event that counted with more than 200 participants was an exceptional opportunity for Latin American spine surgeons to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues from other countries.

According to our guests and organizers, the event was a success because it received spine surgeons from 13 countries of our region, international lecturers from 9 countries, including Europe and North-America.

During 3 days, spine surgeons were able to participate into a principle course, a research seminar, and advanced modules in Trauma, Tumors and Degenerative & Deformities.

The innovative format that allowed our participants to attend modules from different pathologies, was very well received by the surgeons that attended the AOSpine Regional Courses. We are very enthusiastic about the feedback of the event.

Our hope is to see as many participants in our next Regional Courses that is going to take place in Mexico City in June 2017.

AOSpine Online Activities

In 2017, AOSpine Latin America will offer many online activities in order to benefit its members with its Continuing Medical Education program.

This decision was taken thinking about our members. At AOSpine we know the difficulty to attend courses located in different places of our region. Time and dislocation are two elements that might be crucial for our public participate in our events. This is the reason why we are putting so much energy to provide new offers to our members.

Academic Course on Spine

In October 27th, 2016, AOSpine Latin America launched the Academic Course on Spine. The scientific content that was developed by recognized spine surgeons of the Latin American region is a dynamic, complete and progressive educational program structured in three levels on spine pathologies. At the end of each level, participants will receive an AOSpine certificate while at the end of the program they will receive an AOSpine certificate accredited by the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. Participants from Brazil will also be able to request the credits to the “Comissão Nacional de Acreditação-CNA Brasil”.

The program that went under some adaptations in order to provide a better experience to our participants was set on pause from November 2015 till October of the current year. In particular, the changes are an improved platform, tutoring system, interactive cases and complementary material. In addition, new topics and the possibility to participate into synchronic and asynchronous activities have been added to the program.

At the end of the day, we were surprised that all the vacancies were sold in less than a few hours.

We wish good luck to all participants.
