It took place in Curitiba/Brazil (March 16-17, 2018). The Chairperson was Luiz Vialle (BR), the EA was Emiliano Vialle (BR) and the Faculty group had Néstor Taboada (CO) among other national faculty.

The course was designed to show how to perform anterior access to the lumbar spine with identification of anatomical landmarks; anterior lateral access through the psoas

For 2018, we have three different courses about research:
• Research in Database
   (April 8 - May 26)
• Guidelines for writing a scientific paper
   (July 1 - August 18)
• Guidelines for interpreting the evidence
   (September 9 - October 27)

The courses are online and the participant will receive an academic certificate. The UCS recognizes the courses as "extension courses". With the academic recognition of a University, the participant can request
accreditation on his/her own country. Accredited certificates ensure that education provided by institutions of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality. According to José Jiménez, AOSpine Latin America Research Officer, as a way to keep at the forefront and to improve our activities, particularly the courses about Education in Research, we have now the University of Caxias do Sul accreditation, which allows an extracurricular value, placing the educational process in standards of professionalization.
